The source I have (source A) quotes another source (source B), and I want to incorporate that quote into my writing. Which source should I cite in my paper?

Answer

When possible, you want to avoid secondary quotes. If "source B" is readily available, you should read it and derive any citations from the original source. You can then mention "Source A" in analyzing the original work. If "Source B" is not available, you can use a parenthetical citation. While citing Source B, indicate where you found it (list the author, title, and date of source A)
