How do I request an item the library does not have?

Answer

Whenever the library does not have access to a book, you can request the item through Interlibrary Loan.

There are three ways to request an item through interlibrary loan:

  1. Fill out the appropriate form on the Interlibrary Loan page
  2. If you are in Library WorldCat, click on the item you want to request. In the item record, under "Availability" click the button labeled "Request Item through Interlibrary Loan"A screenshot of the interlibrary loan request button in WorldCat
  3. If you are in a library database like ProQuest or EbscoHost, look for a button labeled "Full-Text Finder" or "LS"A screenshot of the LS Link-Source button or "LinkSource". The Linksource/Full-Text Finder button will search our holdings to see if we have the item. If the library does not carry it, the subsequent page will give you the option to request the item through interlibrary loan.A screenshot of the full-text finder interlibrary loan option
